Low Tide Landing, 1947
Low Tide landing is an excellent example of Gibson's early work en plein air. It was with this painting that Gibson was admitted as a Signature Member to the American Watercolor Society in 1947. It was shown at the Annual American Watercolor Society Annual Exhibition that same year. It shows the bolder, broader brush strokes that Gibson employed in his earlier work.
